Halloween in Wonderland

I made this using Graphics 45 Halloween in Wonderland scrapbooking paper and a few bits and pieces of Tim Holtz materials. It is a layered collage.

Alice sits on the very top of the frame and right below the frame are the pieces with the pumpkin and cards. Below that sitting against the back of the frame is the area with the watch face and rabbits. (They had to be the deepest in the rabbit hole right?)

This was a kind of experiment before I try tackling a big steampunk one. I wanted to see how it would look if instead of glossing the entire picture I just glossed the edges of the middle layer to adhear it to the back of the front glass pane.

For the steampunk one I plan on working on it has 6 possible layers so I plan on letting it take me a while to make.

Also, this frame can be opened up. On the inside behind the cards is a key. I like building things that have pieces that only the owners know about. It gets to be their little secret when others look at what they have.

I kind of wanted the center of attraction to be the name on the cards and wanted this to feel a bit like they are tumbling down and surrounding Alice. The Rabbit is up at the top where things are more open so it is kind of like Alice gets to think "Geez, I have to go through all this to get back up there?" With her outside of the glass it is kind of like an introspective moment of "hmmm, how am I going to get through all this and live?"
