Tonight Tonight - Smashing Pumpkins Steampunk Music Video

Steamy Pirate Necklace

This is a simple necklace on an Anchor Beer Cap. =)
The color of the arrow and inside gear are bronze while the crossbones are a gold color.

Steamy Pirate Pendant

Halloween is approaching and I've been listening to Abney Park which has put me on a total pirate kick. More pendants and necklaces with skulls to come!

Key Frame

I had a larger key that was a bit heavy to go on a necklace so I decided to frame it instead. The background is a simple lace.
I ended up taking a close up of the key and lace and played around with the image in Photoshop. It makes for a pretty neat background since all the edges fade to black and you can center the image on your background.

Steampunk Stuffed Bunny

I tried to imagine a simple stuffed animal that a lower class factory worker would make their child. The eyes are two real watch gears and it is a mini bottle cap necklace on the bunny. If I end up selling it, I will make a matching bottle cap necklace for the owner.
It is hand sewn and the fabric is osnaburg.

Another Christmas Stocking

I ended up trying to make a larger stocking recently. I figure I will make a variety of sizes and shaped. Right now those two are all hand stitched. My sis has my sewing machine at the moment. Oh well, good strength exercise for my hands.

New Lapel Pin Design

This is a new direction I am going with the lapel/hat/bag pins. I recently created a custom order for a German Belly Dancing Group and the pieces we similar in design. They are a little more expensive than the simple lapel pins so I won't be making as many but I look forward to getting more designs worked up.

Dramatic Cat

Things have been pretty quiet lately. Just letting tokens dry at the moment.
In return, have a picture of a dramatic cat. (That is Vincent, making sure I keep working.)

Gear Heart

Taking it easy today. Made a mechanical heart .gif so I could play around with some things in Photoshop CS4. Interested in checking out CS5 eventually...

Steampunk Tinted Sugarland Music

Country group Sugarland's new album Incredible Machine will be out this October and I cam across some articles mentioning a remark about their material being steampunk. Now they have gone back and said the presentation carries more of the steampunk asthetic in their concerts. Right now they are on tour and are bring back a tradition of touring before an album's release. I kind of look forward to seeing where they go with this. I'm not a big fan of country but I'm curious what they do with this album.

Thinking about Christmas Already?!

So I have this idea in mind for a Steampunk Christmas Stocking. This is the prototype. I think I will go a little bit larger and ad some stamping and possibly a place for either a name tag or word on it.
I used one of the lapel/hat pins to decorate it. I wanted to create something simple and something that would have a classic feel to it without being too high class Victorian ornate. I'm just trying to nail down the initial design of it right now.
It is made of burlap and osnaburg.

More New Resin Tokens

The is a new resin that I have been toying around with lately that sets due to UV light. I'm still not sure what I think of it. For these I don't mind it so much but when it covers all the items completely, well; I'm still not sold on how it looks. I like how my other resins conform more to the shape of the objects beneath when they dry. This one has a hard, even and glossy look to it. I'll have to do more testing...

Mini Tokens and Cyber Steam Tokens

I'm a sucker for black light and neon items so when a friend tossed some great orange and yellow caps to me I decided to play a little. The piece inside is from a clock but it reminded me of a power button on a computer, so I decided that would be the kind of piece that would go inside these neon pieces. The first try I used a stamped background of gears while the second I left blank since I thought the first seemed a bit cluttered.

Stumbled across some small bottle cap charms and thought I would play with one. :3

Anime Overload Loot

Goodies from Anime Overload. =^.^=

This is just a shot of all the goodies. =)
The Deadpool badge is from herms85.deviantart.com
I'm a huge Deadpool fan...

I grabbed this hat from Georgia Thomas of "Puddles the Pirate Kitty."
She is an Austin Local artist and takes custom order at kittaba@yahoo.com

Unfortunately it seems I didn't grab a business card for the artists that made him.
I shall have to hunt!

Snagged this from Rhapsodical Wares (listed Rhapsodical Hats on the Local Artist tab.)
Find more items on their Etsy shop at rhapsodicalhats.etsy.com!

I'm in love with this from Rhapsodical Wares (listed Rhapsodical Hats on the Local Artist tab.)
Find more items on their Etsy shop at rhapsodicalhats.etsy.com! So Tiny! So Cute!

This is another item from Georgia Thomas of "Puddles the Pirate Kitty."
She had quite a few and sold all of them tonight.
She is an Austin Local artist and takes custom order at kittaba@yahoo.com

This is from ClockWork Threads. (http://www.clockworkthreads.com/)
I really love the design on this! I can't wait to see more of her work.
She handles a lot of custom item work from her website.
Have a picture in mind? Talk to her! She'll make it work!

So overall the con was rather small and the panels were a bit hard to hear but I really think it makes for a good one day con. Everything was packed into one room (performance stage, dealers, artists and panels with cloth dividers in the back of the room.) They also had two food vendors there which was kind of nice. (Yummy Sno-cones!) I mainly just went to go check out the artists.

Other artists that were there include Winged Cat Studios (lucubro-insomnis.deviantart.com), A Key Within: Geek Chic (http://www.akeywithin.etsy.com/), Airship Isabella (Airshipisabella.com) and Bleak World Productions (http://www.metaphoricsurrealist.com/.)

Edge of Twilight (Steampunk Video Game)

Resonance of Fate (Steampunk Video Game)

This is one that I know I would like to try playing just for fun...

Damnation (Steampunk Video Game)

The reviewer makes me laugh for how he keeps harping on how hard it is to wrap his mind around the idea... I think I might try to hunt this down some time.

Guns of Icarus (Steampunk Video Game)

Dusty the Steampunk Watch Dog

Hmm, the photos make him look a little scary but he really is a sweet little pup.
Eats even less than his big brother Rusty the Steampunk Cog Dog.
He is a little timid around Penny and Time but he loves adventuring on his own or exploring with Rusty. Sometimes I find him asleep inside a bottle cap all worn out. He is just so adorable then!

He is made completely out of real watch parts.
(Some not so clean as you can see by his face; what does that boy get into?!)

I was able to round the boys up for a family photo.
This also gives you and idea of Dusty's size. He can fit inside a bottle cap.
