Chet Phillips Illustration Steampunk Ball Costume Contest Loot Donation
This time looking a bit less simian.
Chet has donated two of his brand new collections called Union of Superlative Heroes and Order of Nefarious Villains.
Excellent designs and entertaining back stories, these are a real treat for any steampunk.
Be sure to check out his website at: http://chetart.com/
Don't forget to stop by his shop for an excellent selection of simians and supers: http://www.etsy.com/shop/chetart
Details on these super sets:
Imagining an alternate world in which Steampunk Superheroes inhabit a Victorian society, the Union of Superlative Heroes are characters from a variety of countries, each with their own unique abilities. 20 cards in all, this set profiles such epic figures as Marquis Le Bat, Stupendous Gent, Empress Amazonia, Plastic Samuel, Lord Wolverton and 14 more. Each card showcases their portrait along with a brief biography and country of origin on the reverse. Cards measure 2 1/4" x 4"- printed in color both sides onto sturdy 14 pt. cover stock. Set is packaged in a handcrafted paper portfolio with gold foil stamp decoration on the label.
The Order of Nefarious Villains serves as the companion set and evil counterpart to the Union of Superlative Heroes. Spawned from the blackest recesses of spider pits and graveyard shadows, this collection of evil deviants inhabit the same parallel Steampunk Victorian universe as their heroic foes. 20 cards in the set, including the characters Professor Cephalopod, Sir Samuel Lodestone, Black Piranha, Feline Fräulein, Lord Venomous, King Congo and fourteen more. Each card showcases their portrait along with a brief biography of their dark deeds.

theshyfox photography and floral duct tape Steampunk Ball Costume Contest Loot Donation
theshyfox photography and floral duct tape has generously donated one of her treasure flowers and one of her popular prints "Road to no where" to the March 12th Austin Elysium Steampunk Ball Costume Contest Prize Pool. (I don't think I can explain how awesome this print looks in real life. There is a silver sheen that adds so much that can't be photographed!)
Where can you fine more of theshyfox's work?
Check out her Deviantart account at: http://theshyfox.deviantart.com/
Find her Etsy shop at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/theshyfox
Who is theshyfox?
By day a 22 year old photographer for her own company and for a local film crew that specializes in horror and the macabre. By night, the regional manager for a local janitorial company that specializes in cleaning movie theaters. It might not be glamorous but it pays for what she loves, time to spend being the official photographer for two local convention going groups called The Houston Area Ghost Busters and The Air Ship Isabella. (Not to mention the duct tape that she fashions into amazing and delicious smelling flowers of all shapes and sizes!)
So what is theshyfox? Not to be contained by one category, she is a photographer, internet addict, youtube vlogger, singer, cinematographer, gofur, makeup artist, costumer, rennie, steampunker, nerd, loving daughter, sister, and girlfriend.

Rosewood Stitches' Steampunk Ball Costume Contest Loot Donation
Rosewood Stitches has donated a great Victorian Reticule perfect for a fine Victorian lady short on a few easy access pockets. This is a great wristlet for your wallet, phone and other essentials.
I'm in love with my cross body convention bag that I bought from her not too long ago. The fabrics she uses are very sturdy and finely decorated. I can't wait to save up for the matching Carpet Bag!
Be sure to check out the great selection of steampunk bags, purses, hats and clothing.
Rosewood Stitches accepts custom orders too! If you don't see something on the store, let the artist know; she is a pleasure to work with and her pieces are great quality.
Shop at the store on Etsy.com! http://www.etsy.com/shop/RosewoodStitches
Rosewood Stitches, owned by Linda Lindsey and based in Humble, TX, has been sewing for over 30 years. She discovered the Society for Creative Anachronism 23 years ago and got hooked on costuming. In 2004 Linda got clean and stayed that way by working in Iraq for 2 1/2 years. Upon returning to the States, she fell off the wagon as soon as she discovered Steampunk. Linda is more than happy to be hooked again. Rosewood Stitches also enjoys doing panels on plus sized costuming at conventions.
Rosewood Stitches items are all handmade, machine sewn and hand finished. The hats are made from scratch out of buckram and wire and no two are the same.
If you are looking to top off your outfit with a statement, be sure to check out Rosewood Stitches' Shop!

Chance to Win a Mechanics of Love Necklace!
Want a chance to win one of the Mechanics of Love Necklaces?
Leave a comment on this blog entry telling me what you love about steampunk and you are entered!
Make sure you leave a way to be contacted, like your e-mail. If you are under 18, please make sure your parents approve of you entering this contest. I will ship internationally so anyone can enter! Names will be entered into a random list generator at random.org and the person that comes in first wins.
The drawing will take place on February 13th @ 9pm CST and results will be posted soon after.
What I love about steampunk is the variety of people that get drawn into it and seeing the different ways it is interpreted. Steampunk doesn't have just one deffinition, maybe extremely loose guidelines if that, and it is left up to the fantasy of those involved.
Don't forget to check out the shop while you wait for the results!

I put these two side by side so you could see the difference in the shine.
The gunmetal color does shine when light hits it hard but is much more subdued.
