Elysium Steampunk Ball : October 30th

Just got the news last night:

Elysium will be hosting another
Steampunk Ball here in Austin at
The Elysium on October 30, 2010.

As more information develops I'll post details.
It should be nice and cool then and perfect for dressing up in the heavy steampunk outfits.

Vacation: Austin Keys

Right before the trip to PA and MD I came across these in Austin.

Vacation: PA Keys

These were the keys I found in Corry, PA.

Vacation: Button

My aunt had a collection of old political buttons that were my grandfathers. This one made me smirk.

Vacation: Keys

The keys... oh, the keys... I think I'm broke now.

Vacation: Goggles

We hit an antique store in Corry, PA during my past vacation and I stumbled across a pair of "Initiation Goggles." The black lenses can be pulled down and opened up as needed. My sister said she thought they would be used in a pilot's test for flying blind but I haven't been able to track down any shots of similar goggles. Anyone know anything about them?

Real Clock Parts Necklace #2

This is the second necklace using clock parts and chain from the abandoned warehouse in Amarillo. The main chain and magnetic heart clasp are not antique. The heart is bronze colored and everything else is a gold color.

She has some fun jewlery at her shop to check out. I'm loving all the sugar skulls!

Peep Show Token

During my vacation to PA and MD we hit several antique stores and my husband stumbled across this peep show token for Ellwest Stereo theatres & jolar Cinemas. I ended up buying it because it cracked me up so much. Been hunting around for more information on where it was used.

I came across this:
"This little token is from an adult peep-show theater that operated in the 1970’s in New York City and several other metropolitan areas. The operation was called the “Ellwest Stereo Theatres & Jolar Cinemas.” via: http://www.etsy.com/listing/41870170/1970s-adult-peep-show-tokenellwest
