Steamy Pirate Pendant

Halloween is approaching and I've been listening to Abney Park which has put me on a total pirate kick. More pendants and necklaces with skulls to come!

Steampunk Stuffed Bunny

I tried to imagine a simple stuffed animal that a lower class factory worker would make their child. The eyes are two real watch gears and it is a mini bottle cap necklace on the bunny. If I end up selling it, I will make a matching bottle cap necklace for the owner.
It is hand sewn and the fabric is osnaburg.

New Lapel Pin Design

This is a new direction I am going with the lapel/hat/bag pins. I recently created a custom order for a German Belly Dancing Group and the pieces we similar in design. They are a little more expensive than the simple lapel pins so I won't be making as many but I look forward to getting more designs worked up.

Pieces with the New Resin

The is a new resin that I have been toying around with lately that sets due to UV light. I'm still not sure what I think of it. For these I don't mind it so much but when it covers all the items completely, well; I'm still not sold on how it looks. I like how my other resins conform more to the shape of the objects beneath when they dry. This one has a hard, even and glossy look to it.

I'll have to do more testing...

New Stash of Bottlecaps Drying

o.o My friends have been thirsty...
And of course when I set them out to dry it cools off outside and looks like rain now... ;p

3 Arrow 3 Gear Necklace

Woot, new design is dry. :D This one is a mixed metal version using the gold, bronze and silver colors. It also has a new type of chain. It is black to match the face of the cap.

Types of Bottle Caps I Currently Worked With

If you happen to be a fan of a particular beverage, you might be wondering what bottle caps have I recently been working with.
As time goes on, I'll update the list.

All the caps I use are real company bottle caps, not craft caps bought in bulk.

  • Bawls Geek B33R
  • Dr. Pepper
  • Coke
  • Steaz
  • Martinelli Apple Cider (Another cap I love to work with!)
  • Stewart's Fountain Classics

  • Shiner Boch
  • Shiner Kosmos
  • Shiner Black Lager
  • Blue Moon
  • Woodpecker
  • Corona
  • Lone Star
  • Sake2Me
  • Mike's Hard Lemonade

Mike's Hard Lemonade Caps

I love these caps!! My favorite colors to work with are the black and silver combo.

I mentioned before in my blog the way that the Mike's lemon on the cap gets covered by the gear and looks like a clocked out eye.

I love it! Hehehe, just had to share.

Hope your week is going well. Friday is almost here!

Rockin to The Browncoats Today!

The new ones are still drying.
Well, good things are always worth the wait, right?
For your viewing pleasure, The Browncoats rendition of The Hero of Canton:

Saw this band live when they came to Austin for Ikkicon and had a blast!
Check them out! They have some great songs on their CD.

Like Watching Paint Dry

Yay! I filled up the insides of the new designs last night and early this morning! So... now the wait for them to dry. I hope they will be clear by tonight so I can post a pic of them.

In the meantime, enjoy this Abney Park video about Steampunk Culture:

The Token Designs

Welcome to Turner's Tokens!

I figured I would start this off with an intro to some of my basic pieces. I'll keep posting new designs I create. Each piece is original in the design based on the background inside the cap, the caps themselves and the gears inside. The only time I make something duplicate is when I just really like the way it turned out! (Even then, they aren't the same because of the background.)

I offer both soda and beer caps. You never know when a school is going to get picky about backpack chains, key chains, or boot chains and I want to make sure my customers can enjoy them in all walks of life!

Right now I have some basic layouts for the Tokens I sell.
The Spinner with a Gear:
The Filled Spinner with a Gear:

The Spinner with Token and Gear:
The Spinner with Token and 2 Gears:

I try to write a story with each piece I make to create something unique for you.
Like the Spinner with Token and 2 Gears, there is a woman's face pictured inside with a gear surrounding it. The Token says "Moments."
Create your own story around these small tidbits and lose yourself in your daydreams.
