Comicpalooza: Humberto Ramos

So... this is the guy I'm gonna be stalking at Comicpalooza.

I fell in love with his work on DV8 and then when he created Crimson and Out There that kind of sealed the deal. :P I just love his style.... it's chewy sharp yum yum. Yeah, if I meet him I'm sure I'll just clam up and not be able to speak beyond "H-h-hi!" and then promptly pass out or hyperventilate. Whatever comes first...

Then during the Marvel: Civil War arch he did a stint on Wolverine... It renewed my love all over.
He was originally going to be at Comicpalooza last year but due to all the H1N1/Swine Flu problems with flying he made a good choice to just stay at home and come this year.

Looking forward to getting my hands on Fairy Quest too...

Comicpalooza: Chanson de Vie

Chanson de Vie is a belly dancing group that draws their style from quite a few sources resulting in a wide mix of steampunk, gypsy, gothic and tribal dancing. Check them out! They will be holding panels and also will be selling hip wraps and costumes among other things.

Kamikazecon: The Penny Dreadfuls

I won't be attending Kamikazecon as an artist but I thought I would spread the word. The Penny Dreadfuls will be attending Kamikazecon in Houston on March 19-21. Here is the write up from Kamikazecon's site:

"All you Dreadites rejoice: The Penny Dreadfuls of S.S. Icarus will be making their Midwest debut at Kamikazecon 2010! Some of the crazy folks behind the upcoming Steampunk World’s Fair (www.steampunkworldsfair.com) and the monthly dance and event night “The Big Brass Ball”, these steampiratess have been flying their sky-ship all over the Eastern US convention scene, pillaging and plundering since early 2008. They recently partnered with DogToon Media (www.dogtoonmedia.com/), Wicked Events,and Brian Viglione to create a short series of fun, satirical ads for “Steampunk”.
